Do you have fruit trees? . Better not to climb a ladder to catch the fruit , the ladders are dangerous.

The fact is that there are already many designs, but this fruit picker allows you to pick the fruit in the same way as the fruit you pick with your hand.

That is, open the hand, close it on the fruit, pull the fruit while you turn the wrist.

And this is the key, the spin.

Pulling back the handle the claws open, and releasing the handle the spring causes the claws to close. And if you turn the handle, the claws turn. video

Add that, it is very simple to make, few materials, very common tools, and a 3D printer.

List of Materials and Tools

For assembly you will need:

3DPRINTED parts , designed for printing without supporting material

MATERIALS, easy to find in any hardware store:

1 tube diameter 20mm thickness 1.2mm or 1.5mm and length 2 meters

2 threaded rods M8x1 meter

1 threaded rod M8x200mm

8 screws M6x25mm

2 screws wood thread length 20mm

8 nuts M6

11 nuts M8

2 nuts M8 and 40mm length

1 M8 flat washer

2 flat washer M10

1 spring thickness 1.5 length 40mm

TOOLS:

2 hexagonal wrench 13

1 hexagonal wrench 11

1 hexagonal wrench 10

1 star screwdriver

1 meter

Put 2 M8 nuts on the end of the threaded rod M8x200mm and press against each other.

Inserts the threaded rod through the 3Dprinted part # 2.

Place 4 nuts M6 in the hexagonal holes.

Screw another M8 nut through the other end of the threaded rod.

Do not tighten too much, the pieces of plastic could brake.

Place de spring.

Place 4 nuts M6 in the hexagonal holes. 3Dprinted part # 1.

Place 3Dprinted part # 3, insert a M6 screw through the hole and screw it into the nut.

Do not tighten too much, piece # 3 has to be able to rotate.

Repeat with the other 3Dprinted parts # 3.

(I have used longer screws, and have cut them, to make the turn on a non-threaded surface, but it is not necessary).

Join the assembly of step 2 to the assembly of step 3.

Place 4 M6 screws through the 3Dprinted parts # 3 slot and thread into the nuts.

(Do not tighten the screws too much, you could block the assembly).

Place 2 flat washers M10 facing the rounded part.

This, allow the rotation between the 3Dprinted part # 1 and the tube.

Thread 1 M8 nut at the other end of the threaded rod M8x200mm leaving about 20mm of thread to thread 1 M8 nut 40mm long. Tighten one nut against the other.

In my case the long nuts have a smaller hexagonal, but could serve any hexagonal that enters by the inside of the tube of diameter 20mm.

Thread 1 nut M8 on a threaded rod M8x1meter, thread connecting it to the assembly.

Tighten the nut against the nut M8x40mm.

In this way the threaded rod of 1 meter is attached to the 200mm threaded rod.

Repeat the union with the other 1 meter threaded rod.

Insert the tube.

You can make the fruit picker, longer, using a tube of 3 meters and adding another threaded rod M8x1 meter.

Thread 2 nuts M8 approximately 95mm from the end of the threaded rod and tighten against each other.

Insert the handle through the threaded rod.

Make sure that the nut fit into the hexagonal hole.

Place a flat washer M8, and thread two nuts M8. Tighten against each other.
