Race to Pantheon Hill (MicroBit Board Game)

Want a fun board game to play?

Yes? Great! I have just the thing for you. I have created an original board game designed to be fun and not too short. To recreate the exact board game you will need access to a 3d printer. It's not necessary but adds great detail that's not as easy to recreate. What's the main goal of the board game? Well, I'll tell you the story:

Your kingdom's princess has been kidnapped. She is being held on Pantheon Hill. Your King announced that the first one to rescue her will become royalty. In your poor kingdom being royalty is everything. So townsfolk are racing to Pantheon Hill to rescue the princess.

Supplies

Materials:

1 Micro Bit, 3d Printed Parts, Glue, Foam Poster Board, 3 Wires, Paper, 1 MicroBit Mini Speaker Ruler Paint MicroBit Battery

Instructions

Instructions:

Choose a Player Piece

Place player pieces on and near the starting tile (light blue).

Press Button A on the MicroBit to roll the dice and determine who goes first. The player with the highest roll goes first.

Press Button A on the MicroBit to roll. Move the number of spaces that the microbit has shown.

Take turns rolling the dice.

If you land on a Trap tile (Purple) you will move back the number of spaces displayed.

If you land on an Enemy tile (Green) press Button B on the MicroBit and move back that amount of spaces.

If you land on a Sabotage tile (Red) press Button B and move any player of your choice back that amount.

If you land on a Treasure tile (Yellow) press the Logo. If you get a 1, grab one Anti-Curse Cube, if you get a 2, grab a Sabotage Cube, if you get a 3, grab a Reroll Cube.

Anti-Curse Cubes can be used to deny Trap tiles, Enemy tiles, if a player sabotages you, and Sabotage Cubes. This Cube can be used anytime you land on one of these tiles or when you are sabotaged by another player.

Sabotage Cubes can be used at the end of your turn, press Button B to move anyone back that amount instantly.

Reroll Cubes can be used after you roll to reroll and hopefully get a better roll. This can be used along with a Sabotage tile as well.

You can only have one cube at a time. Cubes do not work on the Boss tile.

The Boss tile (orange) is at the very end of the game. When you get here press Button A. If you roll a 7 or higher you defeat the kidnapper, rescue the princess, and win the game. If you roll a 6 or lower move back that amount of spaces you rolled.

Building Instructions

unnamed (4).jpg
  1. Cut the side pieces off of the poster board and use the middle piece as the base. Cover the base in large sheets of green paper.
  2. Then create and glue a 1-inch wide pathway around the board as you please.
  3. Cut out 1-inch squares of tan/grey, red, green, purple, and yellow.
  4. Glue them onto the pathway. These will be your stepping tiles.
  5. Cut out ½ inch white squares. Make the same amount of these as your purple tiles.
  6. Write any number 1-9 on the white. This will be the number of tiles you move back when you land on one.
  7. Using the sides of the foam poster create different layers of mountains and glue them together. Glue these to the board wherever you want for decoration.
  8. If you made an error earlier when gluing your pathway as I did. You can make ripped paper areas lakes and rivers with blue paint.
  9. Paint the mountains with green paint.
  10. Now it is time to 3d print parts.

3d Print the files attached separately (they will need to be put through the printer’s software first.) :

You can then glue them as I did to the board or wherever you like. Make sure you have a castle at the beginning.

Upload the microbit code that's attached separately and put it into your own microbit. Connect your speaker and battery to it and place it into the temple piece.

Done! You now have your own Board Game.
