Radrunner Rear Rack Storage Compartment

3D printed storage compartment that fits between the top of the rear rack and rear wheel/fender of the Radrunner. These files/this instructable is only to illustrate the process used to create my compartment, and no claims are being made regarding long term durability and safety of the compartment.

I printed the two main storage compartment components in this orientation. Each of these fit individually in the print volume of a Creality Ender 3 V2. The inlay and bungee post can be printed separately.

Fasten the Two Compartment Pieces Together

I fastened the two parts with self threading screws for plastic (McMaster 99461A110).

Install the Heat Set Threaded Inserts

M6 heat set inserts were installed in the four pockets on the top of the compartment, and in the hole in the bungee post (McMaster 94180A373).

The bungee post was fastened with an M6x18 socket head cap screw (McMaster 91292A136).

I cut a standard bungee cord used to strap down cargo and threaded it through the two holes shown. I tied a knot on each end to keep it in place. The middle of the bungee is stretched and looped around the bungee post as needed.

Mount to Rear Rack

The compartment slides in from the side of the bike under the rear rack and fastens to the holes used for the passenger seat. I used some tube spacers to get a secure fit against the round tube profile (McMaster 92842A400). This also provides some space should you want to mount other things around the rear rack tubes (bungees, clamps, etc.). Also, pop in the inlay if you wish. This might be able to press fit into the pocket on the sides depending on your print settings. CA glue works as well if it's too loose.
