Rainbow Bookmarks With Mandala Designs

How to make Rainbow Bookmarks with Mandala designs

Its been quite some years, I have started drawing this art form. According to me, Mandala is an art form where we express our life, since my surroundings become my greatest inspiration, where I used to observe patterns and try to bring them in this art. Generally, I used to create black and white mandalas and bookmarks among them are one among my favourites. I thought of fusing rainbow colours, mandalas and bookmarks to create this one with just four supplies.

Supplies

- 300GSM Acrylic Paper

- Acrylic Colours

- White gel pen

- Painters tape / Masking tape

Mask the Sides

To make this classic bookmarks, cut the paper to your required size and mask the sides which forms a natural border.

Blend the Colours

In step two, add primary colours i.e., violet, blue, yellow and red. Apply the colours in equal proportion or in accordance to your colour of dominance. Then, blend the colours to get the rest of the colours. Like, blend violet and blue too get indigo, blue and yellow to get green, yellow and red to get orange. This way creates a perfect blending.

Remove the Tape

Leave it for a complete dry. After it has dried, carefully remove the masking tape. In case of any leaks, touch them with white gel pens or paint them white

Draw Your Designs

You can stop with the previous step or you can add designs like drawing landscapes, portraits, cartoons or writing quotes etc. Here, I have drawn mandala designs using a white gel pen.

Add Ornaments (optional)

This step is exclusively optional. You can add ornaments if you wish. Here I made a hole in the bottom to add tassel ornaments. For this, you can take thread with rainbow colours or a specific one. To do a tassel, you need to take a thread twice the length of the ornament, bend it and tie to a plastic yarn needle. Then, attach a bead on the top of it. Take another yarn of a particular colour and tie all the threads together.

Gifts these to book lovers and share the joy with your loved ones!!
