Re-Purpose Candle Jars

I love candles. I have tons of them around the house. But whatever do you do when they burn out? Throw the glass jars out? Of course not! I re-purpose mine for use in my bathroom. They can hold cotton balls, Q-Tips. and more!

Supplies

For this you will need old candle jars. Mine happen to be from Yankee Candle. They've completely burned down to the end of the wicks.

You will also need a kettle, or something to boil water in. And a sponge to clean them after.

Boil and Pour

Boil water on the stove. Pour the boiling water into the glass jar. I recommend using hot mitts or something to protect your hands. Look! It looks like lava.

The wax will liquidize with the heat and cool down. When it cools down it will re-solidify on top of the water.

Now It's Cooled Off

Allow the water and jar to completely cool. This may take some time.

Then remove the solid wax on top. Pick out the wicks located at the bottom. They may be glued in place. Then use a sponge to clean the jar like a normal glass jar.

Peel off the labels. I've found the Yankee Candle labels come off really easy under running hot water.

You are now all set to re-use the jars wherever you need them!
