Recycled Toilet Paper Roll Rocket
Have you ever heard the phrase "one mans trash is another mans treasure"? Well, today we're going to put that into perspective. I am sure that we have a bunch of toilet paper rolls lying around, seeing as how there is absolutely no toilet paper in stores. In this instructable, you are going to learn how to turn an empty toilet paper roll into a toy rocket ship.

Supplies
The supplies you will need:
Toilet paper rolls
Card board (i also recycled this)
Paper (i recycled this too)
Tape
A compass
a ruler/ a measurement tool
A writing utensil
Hot glue gun (not shown in picture)
Spray paint or acrylic paint and a paint brush.
Cut Your Paper Strips
The first step, you need to cut a paper strip the same height as your tp roll. Mine was exactly 4 inches. The length of the paper doesnt really matter.
Paper to Roll
Next, your going to attach your paper strips that you just cut to your roll. I did this with tape. I lined up the edges and just wrapped the paper around the roll.
Paint
This step is optional, but I really like metallic things and I had some gold spray paint, so I spray painted the rolls. The reason why I put the paper on first and then painted it was so that the color would be more vibrant with a white base rather than a brown base.
The Rocket Legs
I dont really know how to descirbe this step, but basically i just eyeballed how big I wanted my base/ legs to be and marked it on to the card board. Then I put two slits about 1/4 and 3/4 of the way in on both of the pieces. On one piece i put a slit down the middle from the top, and on the other piece I put a slit down the middle from the bottom.
Connect the Base Pieces
Then i connected the base pieces via the middle slits as shown in the above picture. I also painted this white.
Rocket Top
For the rocket top, I used my compass to trace a circle on to the paper. I did not measure this, so just use your best judgement.
Rocket Top Pt 2
After cutting out the circle, i cut a slit down the radius.
Rocket Top Pt 3
After cutting the slit, i wrapped the paper around its self to make a cylindrical cone and taped it together.
Connecting the Base
After that, I connected the base of the rocket to the body via the 1/4 and 3/4 slits. I didnt glue it because I found this to be quite sturdy.
Window
I used my compass to trace two circles onto paper, one a little bigger than the other. I painted the bigger circle black and glued the smaller circle on top. Then I glued the window to the rocket. I also glued the top of the rocket to the body, the picture above does not really show it well. Your rocket is now finished :)
