Recycling Tyre & Converting It Into a Plant Pot
There are piles of used tyres.
What to do with old used tyres?
How to recycle them into useful things?
This instructable is giving step by step procedure to convert used two wheeler tyre into useful plant pot.
Supplies
Used tyre
Used packing foam.
Knife
Hammer
Marker
rounder
pencil & scale
Take used tyre. Clean it.
Mark as shown in above photograph.
With the help of sharp knife & hammer cut on the marks.
Remove inner ring as shown in the above photographs.
Now take out inner side of the tyre. This step needs lot of force.
Once inner side is out, tyre will get shape like a pot. This pot is having rays pointing outward.
Apply some oil based paint on the rays of the pot. One can also paint from outside of the pot.
This pot will have bigger hole inside it. To cover this hole we need to use some material. In this case we have decided to reuse packaging material (packing Foam sheet) of 3/4 to 1 inch thick. Marked it with the help of rounder & pencil to cover hole. In this case it was marked with the radius of 14 cm. Radius size should be at least 1.5 cm greater than actual hole size.
Cut marked circle with the help of sharp knife.
Remove packaging foam sheet circle. Make 3-4 small holes to drain out extra water in plant pot.
Keep circular piece above the hole.
Lay a layer of coconut coir/fiber at the base of the pot.
Make another layer of the dry leaves.
Fill the pot with garden soil & compost. Plant a sapling in the pot. Water the sapling.
Recycled tyre plant pot is ready with plant sapling.
