Remove Wrinkles Without an Iron
Almost everyone has at one time or another found themselves in a situation where their clothes need to be ironed immediately, but there is no iron at hand. For example, if you’re on a trip. We found nine ways to solve the problem of wrinkled clothes.
Flat Iron
A flat iron is perfect for hard-to-reach areas such as collars and small folds. Put the flat iron on the average temperature setting, hold it on the desired place, and wait a few seconds. Make sure that the iron has no hair or sticky hair styling products on it: they can damage your clothing. Do not use on delicate fabrics.
Water + Vinegar
A method for young chemists. Mix natural wine vinegar with water in the proportion 1:3, pour the mixture into a water sprayer, and slightly shake it. Now you have a spray against wrinkles.
Steam From a Kettle
If you don’t have a clothes steamer, a kettle will serve as an alternative. Heat the kettle on the stove. When it starts to boil, take the wrinkled clothes and hold up to the jet of steam, about 20 centimeters away from the spout.
Hair Dryer
An ordinary hair dryer can also serve as a clothes steamer. Turn it to the highest temperature, and direct the hot air onto the wrinkles.
Shower Steam
Turn on the hot water, hang your clothing as close as possible to the shower head, and make sure water drops can’t reach the clothes. Close all the windows and doors, and wait a few minutes. You can also take a shower while waiting for your clothes to be steamed. When you’re done, the creases will have disappeared.
Wet Towel
Put the clothing on a flat surface, such as an ironing board or table. Cover big wrinkles with a wet towel, and strongly press it with your hands. After that, leave the clothes to dry.
Washing Machine
Drying mode can ’iron’ cotton and linen clothes. Select a short mode: 15 minutes will be enough. If the wrinkles are big, add a small wet object such as a sock, baby T-shirt, or handkerchief.
The Bottom of a Pan
Boil water in a saucepan, then empty it. Its bottom will be hot enough to work as an iron. Put the clothes on an even surface, and pretend it’s an iron. It’ll look fun, but it works — we checked!
Ice Cubes
Set the drying mode on a washing machine. Put the wrinkled clothes in — up to 5 items. Add 2-3 ice cubes, and turn the washer on. After 10 minutes, enjoy perfectly ironed clothes. The thing is, melting ice evaporates, creating steam that removes wrinkles.
