Replacing Razor PR200 Batteries

In this Instructable I will show you how to replace non-wired batteries for a Razor Pocket Rocket PR200 minimotorcycle.

Glue gun, Pliers, 4 spade crimp terminal connectors with covers, Soldering Iron with solder, hex wrench and clear packing tape.

With the hex wrench remove the 3 screws that keep the cowling in place to expose the battery holder. The batteries I got didn't come with the wiring attached and were separate not wrapped together like the old ones.

Undo the strap and maneuver the batteries out of the frame. Disconnect the batteries by squeezing the clip hook pulling apart the connection.

With some you can buy with the connector attached these did not. First time I tried on another bike to disconnect the cables with removing the solder and glue but ended up ruining them anyways. It's just quicker to snip off the cables and use fresh connectors. Take the old batteries to a recycling center.

Put the connector covers on first then trim the wires and have about 1/4 inch or so exposed wire and connect the crimp connectors. I soldered them as well to make sure the connection wouldn't pull loose... If you're confident with your crimping you don't need to do this.

On a level surface tape the batteries together. Then connect the wires to the correct terminals. Solder the connectors to the terminals pull the covers up and then with the glue gun cover the terminals to hopefully keep moisture off of them.

Reconnect the batteries to the connector on the bike slide the batteries back into the holder put the strap back on tighten the strap.

Check the switches to make sure the connections are right. Put the cowling back on and you are good to go!!
