Replacing Transmission Speed Sensors (Hyundai Trajet 2000).
Once again the transmission speed sensors need replacing in my wife's Hyundai trajet 2000. This thing eats sensors for lunch!
Here is how I went about replacing these critical sensors.
Here is how I went about replacing these critical sensors.
Disconnecting the Battery.
The negative of the battery needs to be dropped out. A 10mm spanner is used for this purpose.
Removing the Input Speed Sensor.
The transmission cable selector holding bracket needs to come off first. A 12mm bolt holds it in place. Once moved out of the way, the sensor can be removed. It has a 10mm bolt holding it.
In the last pic the corrosion on the sensor pins is visible. This what caused the problem.

Installing the New Input Speed Sensor.
I had to solder extension leads onto the new sensor pins. Thank you Hyundai, you retarded inbred bastards, for making the world's worst cars. I had to cut off the old harness pins and splice in the wires. From the sensor to the oem harness the colors are as follows.
Brown brown.
Blue white.
Green pink.
Installing was easy enough. Once the holding bracket was installed, job done for this sensor.

Replacing the Output Speed Sensor.
This sensor was the easiest. Took less than a minute to replace.
Completion!
With the battery negative reconnected, the car is ready for a test drive. It drove smoothly and it was a relief I won't be nagged again by the wife.
Again I reiterate, Hyundai needs to stop making vehicles. Stick to what the hell ever but stay out of the car market you idiots. They make cars with a service life of 4 years tops. Damn idiots.
