Roadsign Garden Reminders
Here is a cute easy way of reminding you what plants you have put in your pots.
The normal plant reminder thing is mostly on a piece of thin card that is not really fancy - so why not upgrade those card signs to roadsigns?
The process is simple and the things you need are pictured and listed below:
- Cardboard
- Sticky tape
- Ruler
- Red permanent marker
- Black permanent marker
- As many Popsicle sticks as you have plants
- Pencil
- Scissors
Once you have gathered these you can begin!
Making the Blank Sign.
The first thing you will have to do is decide what sign/s you want.
Here is a small list of signs you could use:
- Stop sign
- Give-way sign
- Roundabout sign
- Roadworks sign
- Street sign
- Highway sign
The list goes on and on!
Once you know what your sign type is, google it to get a basic photo of what it looks like and then using the pencil you can trace the outline onto the cardboard and cut it out.
The Base Colours
Time to add the base colours.
I was making two red signs so I only needed a red permanent marker, if you are making a green sign or another colour sign you will need a colour other than red.
So colour in the appropriate parts of the sign and then move on!
Sign Writer.
Now it is time to become a sign writer.
Firstly, make sure you remember what plants you are using, although I wrote "oregano" There is none in this house whatsoever! I meant "basil".
So write your sign out carefully and then move on!
Adding the Posts
It is now time to add the sign posts and finish it off.
Grab your Popsicle sticks and tape them to the back of the signs.
Now you an go ahead and stick them in the right pots and enjoy your new plant scheme!
If you have a larger pot you could also add a mini road with some toy cars!
