Root Beer Float Popsicles

2 summers ago, we bought some popsicle molds. That summer, we had a ton of fun trying new flavors and ingredients. We made about 100 different combinations, some better than others. :) This summer, I hope to make instructables of our best creations. One of my personal favorites was the Root Beer Float popsicle. So, I hope that you will enjoy this delicious treat.

This project doesn't require many objects or time. To make this popsicle, you will need:
-Root Beer ( A&W is my favorite, but we only had Barq's)
-Vanilla Ice Cream
-Ice Cream Scooper
-Blender
-Popsicle Molds

Pour the can of your chosen root beer in the blender. I put a whole 12 ounce can and came out with some extra. You will not run out of root beer.

Open the lid of your ice cream and let it soften for about five minutes. This time will also allow the root beer to sit and lose a lot of carbonation. This is a good thing because then the root beer will not foam up when you put the ice cream in. Even if it does foam up, the blending will take care of it. Put in about 3-4 scoops of ice cream.

Once you have all of the ingredients in the blender, turn it on. I put mine on the "Frozen Drinks" option. If your blender doesn't have this, the medium setting should do. It blends very quick because it doesn't have to blend anything tough like ice. Mine was completely mixed within 20 seconds.

Once your mix has been completely blended, pour it in the popsicle molds. Be careful not to pour in too much, it will expand while it freezes. I would say leave about 1/2 an inch free on the top so it doesn't overflow while freezing.

Once you have poured the mix into the molds, stick them in the freezer. It will take 4-6 hours for them to freeze completely once you put them in. While they are freezing, don't mess with them. Wait until they are COMPLETELY frozen to take them out.

Now that you have frozen the popsicles, you can eat them. To remove them in one piece from the mold, you may need to run them under some warm water. They don't melt extremely fast. Enjoy!
