"SWEET CORN" Dog Costume
This hysterical dog costume was designed entirely of reclaimed items:
1. Old sweatshirt
2. Egg carton
3. Old costume wig scraps
4. (..and a little poster board, hot glue, some paint, green ribbon ...and a bit of Sculpty clay.)
AND ....most of all.....
5. Determination and one very patient, willing, lovable pooch !!
The body was fashioned out of a old sweatshirt of my husband's. I patterned it from looking at a dog blanket vest, cutting the "blanket or jacket" out of the sweatshirt with tabs and added velcro straps at the rear ,middle, and chest to fit our dog. For the "corn kernels " I painted an egg carton and hot glued it to the "blanket" or back. I cut out leaves and glued those on as well.
The head dress was a poster board cone ,wrapped in black wig strands and glued to a hood made from the sleeve of the sweatshirt with elastic sewn in so that it would fit around the face of our dog, Miss Sophie Paws. I added a green bow and a mini corn embellishment that I made from Sculpty clay.
The result was a funny costume that was easy to put on our Sophie as well as remove!!!! We think that she is one "Sweet Corn" !
