"Sam" From Trick 'r Treat

Trick r Treat is an awesome Halloween movie and I wanted to make a Sam doll for my Halloween haunt. Starting with just an idea, here's what I came up with.

Materials

Sam is made from:

PVC Pipe
Styrofoam Ball
Black Buttons
Hemp Twine
Burlap
Baling Wire
Thrift Store Toddler Onesie
Glue

I had to dye the Onesie Orange because there aren't a lot of orange Onesies out there.

Fixing the Feet, Building the Frame

I turned the newly orange outfit inside out, then cut off and reversed the feet so that the buttons were at the back. I sewed on the patches, and then built the PVC frame.

Head/Eyes

I then measured the burlap around the ball and sewed on his eyes and other stitching.

Hands/Treat Bag

Almost done? Not hardly. Next I made a small sack out of burlap and attached it to one arm using the baling wire. Then I made a hand and attached it to the other wrist.

Sucker and Stuffing

I made the sucker from a piece of scrap wood and a dowel. I stuffed the outfit with newspaper to give him some body and the mannequin is done!
