Save Your Soldering Iron
Many Soldering Iron has temperature control. If you do not have it because it seems excessive for our use or as in my case for lack of space we can use a simple control to lower the temperature of the Soldering Iron and prevent burning when not want to disconnect for an indeterminate time to return to use it because we are preparing the circuit or looking for that component that resists being found.
The solution costs less than € 2. We need:
-A Plug
-Slide switch
-1N4007 diode.
Simply we pass power directly or through the diode (few milliamps). The circuit can be placed in a separate box, but
I've seen more practical to include in the plug itself.
On one side put the diode (never mind the polarity) and the other direct. Both go to one of the outlets.
In the center will be the cable soldering iron, brown or blue. Green is the ground (from Spain in EU).
The slider has come under pressure in the gap. They have no need for screws. So we have the option heat
Alto (High) or Bajo (Low)
Now we can see wattage with high position and reaches about 280°C and low to the right and down about 150°C in a few minutes.
Sorry for my English.
