HTV and other vinyl is costly and many scraps end up unused or in the trash. Here is one way I reuse the scraps from other t-shirt projects to make new ones!

(The first three projects scraps made the third project! Gold and White from Unicorn Shirt, Red from MagicShirt, and Pink from Bunny shirt)

Supplies

Scraps of Iron On Vinyl

Cutting Machine

Cutting Mat

Weeding Tools

Save Scraps From Other Projects

After cutting vinyl for a project, cut off uncut areas and save scraps. I put mine in an expandable file by color so they are easy to access.

Select an image that uses multiple colors and import into your cutting machines design program. (I used design space by Cricut). Select colors of vinyl from your scrap collection to make this image.

Prepare your mat for cutting. Since you are using vinyl scraps, you can cut multiple colors at a time. To do this, cut scraps to needed size. Then, in design software, select "move object" and place on same mat. Do not forget to mirror all layers for iron on projects.

Weed Cuts and Save Scraps

Weed layers that are cut. If there are extra areas not cut, trim them and put in scrap bin--more fun projects!

Iron on each layer using appropriate temperature. Remember to use a teflon sheet to protect previous layers.
