Self-Watering
An automatic watering tool to place in your pots. You just introduce it into the earth, fill it with water and this will be supplied little by little so that you do not have to be attentive to water your plants.
Supplies
For this 3d Printed creation, we need PLA plastic and a 3D printer. I used green Basicfil (1.75 mm diameter) PLA and the Creality Ender 3.
3D Model Creation
The 3D model I created is very simple and easy to make. I used Solidworks but you can use any other 3D program that lets you create an STL file.
The basic shape is a pipe more widen at the top so it can store the water and more easy to fill and a narrower part at the bottom so that the water is gradually wetting the earth.
Print of the Model
The next step is to convert the STL file of the 3d model to a Gcode file that can be understood by the 3D printer. For that, I used the Cura program, very intuitive and fast to use.
In the printing configuration, I used supports, adhesion, an infill of 10%, and a precision of 0.16.
So wait until the print is ended!
You Have It!
Now you have created a Self-Watering tool to place in your pots and fill them with water!
Enjoy it.
No more forgetting to water the plants!
