Are you tired of playing Settlers of Catan and having all your pieces move around? Of course you are. On instructables there are plenty of good hacks to stop this from happening. This method: using matches.

You will need a piece of wood which will become your settlers board
Matches
PVA glue or similar
Pencil
Blue tac
Setters of Catan

I painted mine grey afterwards. So paint is an optional.

The matches are used as a barrier around the hexes which stops them from being able to move. This is self explanatory but I took photos to make this instructable.

Prep Your New Settlers Board

I used to use a block mountain art piece to play on so I used the back of this board. This board is now solely used for Catan.

Get your board and your hexes. Blue tack out a board so that you know where the hexes will be positioned.

Get a pencil and draw around the hexes.

Take the hexes off.

Final image here is the board how I used to have it. With so much going on it is no wonder the hexes would be bumped.

Preparing Your Matches

Cut the red bits off the matches.

Glue the Matches

When gluing make sure you do not glue onto the pencil mark but instead a millimeter or two away from where the hexes will lie.

In retrospect I am glad I did this because it is a little difficult to get all the hexes in place due to the tight fit. This is good though because the hexes cannot move very much at all.

Done!

The hexes will not move anymore! Well not much.

I painted my board as well so it would look better.
