Shoebox of Fun

In many situations, people have empty shoe boxes that are put off to the side to collect dust after a purchase. With this instructable, I will be teaching you how to transform your boring ordinary shoe box into a box of fun. This shoe box does not just include a intense foosball table but also a checkered board located on the bottom of the box which can be used to play board games such a checkers. This instructable is not just for kids however for it offers fun times to everyone.

Gather Materials

Material List:

10 Clothes Pins

A shoe box (height-5 inches length-12 inches width-8.5 inches)

Tape

Pen or Pencil

4 Wood Dowels

Small ball (ping pong, bouncy ball)

Knife

Ruler

Paint (optional)

Wrap(optional)

Wrap (optional)

Wrap outside of your box to make it more visually pleasing.

Cut Wooden Dowels

Cut down the wooden dowels so that both sides of the dowels are 4 inches wider than the shoe box.

Paint Clothes Hangers (optional)

Paint clothes hangers to make it tell apart teams.

Cut Out Goal

Cut out a 4.5 by 2.5 rectangle on the bottom of the box, with two inches on either side. Leave the flap so that you can close the open when needed.

Making Holes for the Dowels

Use a pen to poke a hole through the box 3 inches from the bottom, 2 inches from the side, and 4 inches between the 3rd and 4th dowels. Take dowel and push it through both sides of the box and keep rotating so the hole becomes bigger.

Placing Kickers

Using 10 clothes hangers, place three kickers on offense and two kickers on defense on both sides of the field. (like a regular sized foosball table) Between offensive hangers, place at 2 inches away from each other. Between the defensive players, hang 2.75 inches away from each other.

Taping Ends

Tape end of the dowels so that they wont fall out of place. Tape 2 inches(half) of where the dowels meet the hole.

Making Checkered Board

Tape the bottom of the box horizontally and vertically overlapping, making 1 inch squares. Spray paint the bottom of the box so that when you take the tape off it will give a checkered effect.
