Silly Solutions - Toilet TV

Hello, my name is Joao and I'm 13.

I am part of a computing club called Tinker Studios, which is based in Greenwich, London.

I have made a toilet which also has a TV screen attached so you can watch TV shows or youtube or even video chat with your mates with the webcam (which you can turn off) that also doubles up as a sensor, making this toilet completely hands-free to help keep up with Covid-19. All while you're on the toilet!

The first step is to create the base of the toilet. To do this, you need 2 cones and a cylinder, which you then make into a hole by changing it from a solid in the top right of the screen. Make the cylinder way bigger than the cones so that the cylinder doesn't show when it gets grouped; the dimensions don't matter. I made my cones 31x31 but you can change it (by clicking the white squares) to whatever dimensions you want but if you do, try to keep the dimensions of everything else relative. Then, I turned one of the cones around vertically 180 degrees using the arrows next to the shape. Put the cylinder underneath the workplane using the black arrow that appears either above or underneath the shape. Finally, you need to align and group them. To align it all, press ctrl+a to select everything and then press L. Then, press the middle dots of the two rows at the bottom. Once this is done, press ctrl+a again and ctrl+g to group it.

For this step, you will need: a torus (31x31), a cylinder (7x7) and an upturned cone (16x16x10).

Before you put the torus in, put the workplane on top of the base. Then, align the base and the torus. After that, align the cylinder and the base and move it up so it doesn't show at the bottom of the base. Group them.

Then, align the cone and the rest of the toilet. Use the black arrow to move the cone down so it becomes a bowl shape. Group it all.

Lastly, change the colour. You can do this by clicking solid in the top right and choosing the colour you want from the list. As you can see, I went for white.

Note: The cylinder and the cone should be holes

For this step, you will need: a white box (35L x 7W x 23H), a black box (slightly smaller), two white boxes (17x3) one turned at a 45-60 degree angle vertically.

Firstly, put the flat 17x3 box where you want on the bowl (remember to use the align tool if you want it in the centre of the bowl). Then put the rotated 17x3 box on the end of the flat one.

TV:

Align the remaining boxes vertically and on the width. Finally, put the TV on the end of the previous structure.

For this step, you will need: a white box (30L x 10W x 32H), a round roof rotated 180 degrees (30L x 10W x 5H), a SoftBox from the featured section (35L x 15W x 2H)

To get the 3rd shape go into the drop-down menu by clicking "basic shapes" above the list of shapes and select featured. Where it says "wall", underneath where you change the colour, slide it to 100 to fill in the hole.

After that, move the SoftBox on top of the box and move the round roof underneath (using the black arrow).

Then, align all the new shapes to create the last picture. Select every shape and align them. Finally, move the new completed shape behind the toilet.

For the final step, you will need: a white box (17L x 3W x 7H), a white half-sphere (6.5 x 6.5 x 2) and a black half-sphere (slightly smaller).

First, align the two half-spheres and move the black half-sphere so that it is slightly outside of the white half-sphere. Select both of these and copy them (ctrl+c then ctrl+v). Make the new shape a lot smaller (shift+click on one of the white squares and drag, still pressing shift). Put the bigger half-spheres at your desired position on the white box.

Then put the white box and the half-spheres where you want on the side of the toilet. This is the flush.

Finally, put the small half-spheres on the TV, wherever you want and then your toilet is complete.
