Simple Clothes Washer

The modern clothes washer really only offers one thing.  Agitation.  I offer a simple one moving part clothes washer.   These are all of the things you will need used bike tubes, scissors, glue (rubber and plastic).  Also pictured is a baffle made out of bike tubes.  

This is a baffle on the right which has been cut from an old tube and glued together. 

This is a partially finished washer.  I have glued a baffle inside the plastic drum.  This baffle should probably be stiffer.  This can be achieved by gluing a 2 or 3 baffles together.  

Once a number of baffles have been glued inside the drum you are finished with construction.  Now all you have to do is put water, detergent, and clothing into the drum.  Close the drum with a lid.  Then rock the bucket gently with your foot or you can roll it down hill.  I reckon about 15 minutes of rocking with a moderate amount of clothing.  You can do this while watching TV, a movie or studying.  My guess is that people can easily learn to this mindlessly while doing other things.
