Simple Fudge
This Instructable will teach you how to make a simple fudge that can be made with minimal cookware in a small kitchen. Before beginning, acquire the following ingredients and cookware:
Ingredients
- Semi-sweet chocolate chips (24 oz)
- Sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)
- Vanilla Extract (1 tsp)
- Table Salt (1/8 tsp)
Cookware (1 of each)
- Medium sized pot
- Wooden spoon
- 8" Cake pan
- Aluminum foil
- 1 Tsp measuring spoon
- 1/8 Tsp measuring spoon
Prep
Prepare your work space before you being mixing ingredients.
Step Ingredients
- Semi-sweet chocolate chips (24 oz)
- Sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)
- Vanilla Extract (1 tsp)
- Table Salt (1/8 tsp)
Step Actions
- Line the 8" cake pan with the aluminum foil
- Pour the semi-sweet chocolate chips into the pot
- Pour the vanilla extract into the 1 tsp measuring cup
- Pour the salt into the 1/8 tsp measuring cup
- Open the can of sweetened condensed milk
Melting the Chocolate
First, melt the chocolate
Step Ingredients
- Semi-sweet chocolate chips (24 oz)
Step Actions
- Place the pot containing the chocolate chips onto a stove-top
- Turn the stove top's burner on to medium
- Stir the chocolate with the wooden spoon until the individual chips are no longer discernible (Note: Do not let any of the chocolate stay still for long periods of time to avoid burning it)
Adding Ingredients
Next, add the rest of the ingredients to the mix
Step Ingredients
- Semi-sweet chocolate chips (24 oz)
- Sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)
- Vanilla Extract (1 tsp)
- Table Salt (1/8 tsp)
Step Actions
- While continuing to stir the melted chocolate, pour the sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and table salt into the pot
- Stir the mixture until the individual ingredients are uniformly mixed
Pouring and Storing
Finally, pour the mixture out and allow it to cool
Step Actions
- Pour the mixture in the pot into the 8" cake pan (Note: The wooden spoon can be used to move chocolate into the pan if it does not come out on its own)
- Flatten the mixture in the 8" cake pan using the wooden spoon
- Place the 8" cake pan into a fridge and allow to cool for roughly 3 hours before enjoying (Note: Optionally cut the fudge into 32 evenly sized pieces with a knife)
