This is a simple design that took me about an hour to think up. My inspiration came from the Halo 2 Pistols, im sure someone would have pointed that out. These guns are muzzle-loaded weapons with no magazines, so theyre one shot, one hitters. The firing pin is held back by my own trigger design which is the strongest I have seen, for long-time use. Complete with rudimentary tower and notch sights like on a modern pistol, it provides medium accuracy seeing as how the barrel is only 2" long.

I apologize in advance for almost all of these pics being blurry as hell. I lost my good camera.

Build the Barrel Component

C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\My Documents\My Pictures\Knex Guns\Knex Guns 007.jpg
It is critical that you have the white rod attached at the exact red connector, or the grip will not connect with the frame properly. Also, remember to add the green rod at the top of the end white connector, it is the front sight.

Build the Hand Guard Component

It may be hard to see, but there is a hinged piece in the top right part of the frame. This is key for the anchorage to the overall frame.

Build the Grip

C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\My Documents\My Pictures\Knex Guns\Knex Guns 005.jpg
This is a totally solid grip that seems like it has a flimsy fastening system to the frame, but I assure you it is strong if you attach it properly (in future steps)

Build the Trigger System

C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\My Documents\My Pictures\Knex Guns\Knex Guns 010.jpg
This is my fool-proof trigger mechanism. If you build and install it properly, you should have noooo problems with the strength of it.

Build the Top Part of the Pistol

C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\My Documents\My Pictures\Knex Guns\Knex Guns 011.jpg
This top part has nothing to do with the functionality of the pistol, but it does contain the sights, not that you really need them.

Attach the Grip to the Frame

C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\My Documents\My Pictures\Knex Guns\Knex Guns 014.jpg
And so you begin to assemble the whole thing, starting with the grip. The small black connector attaches to the white rod, and then you slide the five red connectors until it is pressure fit into the first of them, and the taller black connectors fit into the space where the single blue spacer is before the two two-piece gray connecters.

Attach the Hand Guard Component

Now, you have plenty of assembley to do. First:

-detach the two yellow connectors from the white rods that contain the blue spacers in the hand guard.

-slide the white rods through the second set of two-piece gray connectors, then slide on the two blue spacers.

-attach slide the two red rods through the first set of two-piece gray connectors, and attach the two yellow connectors in between them

-attach the two red connectors of the hand guard to the bottom of the two blue rods at the bottom of the grip

-attach the green rod thats attached to the hinged connector to the fourth red connector from the muzzle.

Attach the Trigger Mechanism

Snap the yellow rod to the thrid (90 degree) spot on the two yellow connectors that were a part of the hand guard. Slide the single gray connector and small black connector into the space created by the gray spacers. The small black connector should totally block the barrel.

Attach the Pistol Top Component

C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\My Documents\My Pictures\Knex Guns\Knex Guns 026.jpg
Snap in all the exposed rods into their corresponding spaces on the front and back white connectors. Attach the red rods to the first (second from the front) white connector. Attach the single white rod to the back white conncector.

Build and Slide in Firing Pin System

C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\My Documents\My Pictures\Knex Guns\Knex Guns 027.jpg
C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\My Documents\My Pictures\Knex Guns\Knex Guns 028.jpg
Note: if you dont want to continuously repair the firing pin from detaching itself every time you fire, I highly reccomend either gluing with plastic cement or thoroughly taping the small black conntector to the grey/black rod. (DO NOT GLUE THE ORANGE CONNECTORE!!!) the orange connector is used to pull back the pin.

Attach Elastics

C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\My Documents\My Pictures\Knex Guns\Knex Guns 030.jpg
Attach one long and stong elastic to the front of the frame into the protruding ends of the grey rods for the firing pin, and one to the trigger (the bigger the better) so it automatically sets itself in when you pull back the firing pin.

Oh, and by the way, I know that the trigger will click into place when you push it all the way forward to load it, it makes it safer.

You're Done!

Now, go and use these pistols for only a good cause, like shooting squirrels or your little sister... just joking... or am I?
