Simple Paper Airplane

How to make a simple paper airplane.

Supplies

1 piece of 8.5" x 11" paper

First Fold

Place paper flat on surface so the longer edge is vertical. Portrait orientation. Fold the paper in half and crease along fold. After making fold and crease, unfold paper.

2nd Fold

Take the top left hand corner of the paper and fold until the corner touches the center fold. Make a crease at new fold line.

3rd Fold

Repeat with the right hand corner. Fold corner forward until it touches the center fold & crease.

4th Fold

Fold left hand side of paper again until the edge reaches the center fold, crease. Repeat this step on right hand side.

5th Fold

Repeat 4th fold for opposite side.

Turn Over

Now turn paper over so your folds are facing away from you, they should be flat against the table.

Reverse Fold

Fold the paper in 1/2 in the opposite direction as the first fold. There should be 2 flaps on the outside now.

Wing Folds

Fold one side of the bottom (longer flat edge) about 1/2 way down, towards the outside of the plane. Repeat this step for the opposite side.

Almost Done

Turn plane so flat, folded parts are facing up.

Final Product

Fold the tips of wings up towards center of plane. This step can vary depending on how much you fold and in what direction. Adjusting these folds can create different effects in both the look and flight patterns of the plane.
