'Satin Hair Bow' the term itself sounds sooo elegant! Wouldn't it be great if you can make these cute satin hair bows by yourself? In this instructables I'll show you how to make simple satin hair bows from satin ribbon.

Things You'll Need

To make these simple satin hair bows you'll need:

1) Satin Ribbon - of (atleast) 2 inches width and 6 inches length or more,
2) Scissor,
3) White glue or hot glue,
4) Thread and needle,
5) Blank hair clip.

Cutting and Gluing

Using satin ribbon for making hair bows is easy.

You'll need to cut out 2 pieces of satin ribbon, one for the bow and the other one for the middle.
The satin ribbon I used was 2 inches in width and 8 inches in length, but you can cut the ribbon into any length you want.
The satin ribbon piece for the middle would be the same for any length.

Apply glue on any one edge of the ribbons' width and stick it with the other side (or edge),
Allow the glue to dry.

Making the Small Folds

After the glue dries, hold the glued satin ribbon as shown in the picture, placing the glued area in the middle,
Now create small folds to make the bow,
Start folding it from any one side and press the middle of the bow.
Use a small amount of thread for tying a knot in the middle, so that the small folds don't come off.

The Middle Piece

Take the small piece of satin ribbon and fold it as shown in the picture,
Now, wrap it around the bow in the middle,
Sew the open ends of the wrapped ribbon piece using thread and needle and then burn the ends using a lighter.

Attaching Hair Clip

You can simply stick the bow on a blank hair clip using a hot glue,

The blank hair clip I used had small holes on both sides, so I used thread and needle,
I placed the blank hair clip right below the bow,
Brought the needle (along with the thread) through the hole, pulled the thread all the way through the satin ribbon and tied a knot,
Did the same for the other hole.

There! Doesn't it look elegant! I love making satin bows :)

Enjoy!
