Simple TF2 Bread Teleporter
In celebration of a birthday, I thought I'd recreate the teleporter from Team fortress 2 "Expiration Date." Bonus for me, first teleporter on instructables.
This is a very simple project and took less than an hour to complete. You can build on this adding as much detail as you'd like.
Gather Materials
Materials used:
Red poster board
Black poster board
2 soda can boxes
2 soda cans
Vienna bread
Green frosting
Frosting injector
Scissors
Tape
Black Sharpie
Spray adhesive
Teleporter Arm
We will make 2 teleporter arms (I only have one shown here). Trace out the sides of your soda box onto red and black paper, red for the sides and black for the top. Secure them to the box with spray adhesive (white glue or tape would work too).
Trim off any excess paper.
Telecompters
Cut out the bottom section of each can. It doesn't need to be perfect, it only needs to lay flat on our box. Color the edges and inside of the can black, or cover with black paper. leave the silver rim uncolored. Tape or hot glue these to the tops of the boxes.
You should now have two teleporter arms. Rather than make the stand, I'll be using a stand shaped (square) piece of paper.
To make a stand, find or make a box the same size and cover with black paper. Add legs to the sides.
If you'd like, you can even add the black rails or orange lights.
Tumor Bread
"I've done nothing but teleport bread for three days!" - Soldier
Now comes the fun part, Injecting bread with frosting.
My bakery had a nice sized Vienna bread for a buck fifty that looked the part. Use some sort of pointy syringe, frosting bag, or caulk gun to inject small bits of frosting into the bread. Inject from the bottom side of the loaf so that you hide your injection points.
Display
The setup! I found a clear plate at the last minute and added a ring of red paper around it. This represents the teleportation platform that appears when teleporting. Place the two armatures about six inches apart. Center them over a piece of black paper (the stand).
Now you can teleport as much bread as you'd like! And don't worry, these tumor things only occur in an environment of pure wheat!
BTW the bread with frosting tasted just like cake.
