Sit / Stand Pallet Box Desk

Last year I moved into a small apartment which didn't have a desk. It
was a temporary arrangement (probably for 3 months), so I didn't want to spend too much on furniture. I came across a pallet box ... and decided to build a desk out of it. I had some back pain, so the requirements were to be able to use it as a Stand-Up desk and a Sit Down desk.

The first step after finding the box was to figure out the appropriate height and dimensions. For about $50 I build the desk using:

• Pallet box
• White Spray Paint
• Duck Tape
• Cardboard boxes
• Small Angle brackets
• Gorilla Glue

The next step was to remove the wooden structure at the bottom of the box (otherwise it would have been a little too high). We took out out all the nails with a hammer and pliers and then used two of the wooden boards in the pallet to reinforce the inside of the box.

I screwed 4 small wheels to the cardboard and onto the inner wooden boards. When standing, the keyboard was too low, so I built a little raised tray to put the keyboard. It was all made with cardboard, glue and 4 angle brackets screwed directly onto the cardboard.

The table was pretty versatile. You could use it with a screen, a laptop, a chair, a stool, or standing. Having to rearrange the footrest / table was also a good excuse to change position and move around avoiding the same position for too many hours. Eventually I moved out of that house and will soon give the table away for free. I also cut a couple of holes to be able to hold all the cables inside the box and keep the desk and space tidy.
