Sizzling Salad With a Twist

Get Your Ingredients
The things you need are-
2 bowls of puffed rice
Half a capsicum
One tomato
One tablespoon of oil (any kind)
Half a lemon
A pinch of cumin seeds
A pinch of mustard seeds
A pinch of chilli powder or some green chillies (I used the former)
A pinch of asafoetida (Optional) (Available at any Asian store)
A pinch of turmeric (Available at any Asian store)
Salt to taste

Treat the Rice
Soak the puffed rice in water for a while and drain it out. Keep it aside for sometime, covered.

Chop Up the Veggies
Chop up the veggies into small pieces. The tinier, the better. Chip-Chop, Chip-Chop, Chip-Chop, Chip-Chop....
Now for the Cooking!
Put a tablespoon of oil in vessel. Place it on the gas stove and heat it on high for 1 and a half to 2 minutes or until it gets heated and emits steam, whichever is earlier. Be careful not to burn it. Change the temperature to medium. Add in the cumin, mustard, turmeric and asafoetida and stir it for a minute. Add in the veggies and sauté for another two minutes.
Warning - the second the spices and veggies touch the oil, they will start sizzling and emit clouds of steam. Do not get scared. We can do this!
Add the puffed rice and stir for another minute. Add in the chilli powder, lemon juice and salt and stir again for, you guessed it, ANOTHER minute!
Warning - do not stop stirring at any point, after the addition of spices. You do not want a tasty dish to get burnt!
VoilĂ ! You just whipped up a delicious snack in precisely 7 minutes! Turn off the stove and place it on a dish. Garnish it with chopped coriander.
