Small Outside Table for Drinks
For my woodworking project, I made a small table for the outside to hold drinks. We have a pool deck with chairs on it but we did not have a small table to put drinks on so I decided to make one!
Supplies
The materials I used for this project was leftover wood from previous projects. You can use any size wood. There are some basic materials you will need though.
Wood
Measuring tape
Some kind of pen or pencil to mark the wood
Saw
Screws
Drill
Sander
Paint/Stainer and brushes
Gathering Materials and Cutting the Wood to Right Length.
To start this project I gathered all the tools necessary. I then began to cut the wood used for the legs to an even size. I then used a sander to make sure the legs were even and smooth.
Cutting the Sheet of Wood Used for the Table.
For the main sheet of wood of the table I used an extra sheet of wood that I had leftover from a previous project. We laid it onto the legs and drilled in screws to hold everything together. We cut it to about 3x3 ft and used the extra wood to make the table more sturdy.
Making the Table More Sturdy
With the extra wood he had, we cut it into 3ft by 4in parts. We then drilled in screws to keep the wood in place. Then I used a sander to get rid of any unevenness on the table. I had to go over the table many times because the wood was really rough.
Painting the Table
Instead of painting the wood with normal paint, my mom suggested we paint it with a wood stainer. We got a aqua blue color and applied it all over the table.
Final Product!
After letting the wood stainer dry the table was complete! My parents were very satisfied with the results. This project was very simple and really anyone can replicate it.
