Bored with shaky camera? This project might be just for you!!!

Since I am a photographer myself, shaky camera and difficult angles are big obstacles to taking perfect pictures. So I came up with this smartphone camera grip to help everyone who is suffering from these annoying situation.

Materials

  1. Cheap Bluetooth Remote Shutter
  2. Small Wire
  3. 2x M3 10mm Screws
  4. Cheap Phone Case
  5. Velcro Tape
  6. DS-101 Micro Push Button Switch 8 mm
  7. SS-12D00G3 Switch
  8. Heat shrink tubing
  9. 3D Printed Parts

Tools such as hot glue, epoxy glue, wire stripper, soldering iron, etc.

Find the Right Button

Test both buttons to figure out which one is compatible with your phone.

Both button works for my phone(Huawei P9).

Tear Bluetooth Remote Down

  1. Separate your Bluetooth remote into two pieces. (front cover and back cover)
  2. Remove battery from the back cover. (Don't throw your back cover away!!!)
  3. Cut holder part out and sand cutting points on cover part.

  1. Prepare 4x wires 10 cm long.
  2. Soldering them to the board. (more details in the picture)
  3. Coat with epoxy glue on PCB to prevent wires from moving. (Make sure that you set the switch to off position.)
  4. Put PCB back to the back cover and glue it.

Put It in the Box

Put battery back in back cover and put circuit part in 3D printed cover take wires out through the holes. (more details in pictures)

Close the Box

Close the lid and screw it.

Solder buttons to wires and put and glue them in the holes.

Prepare Phone Case

  1. Cut Velcro tape into 4 pieces of 6cm long. (2 hooks 2 loops)
  2. Glue hooks to the back side of the grip and loops at the bottom end of the phone case.

How to Use

  1. Attach grip part to smart phone case.
  2. Turn on Bluetooth on your smartphone.
  3. Turn it on!!!
  4. Enjoy and take a photo.
