Welcome to my 100th instructable! I made this adorable mushroom necklace to go along with my mushroom fairy Renaissance festival costume :) Its perfect for hiding things and nobody will ever know. It can hold money, chapstick, lighter etc. I really hope you enjoy this tutorial as much as I enjoyed making it!

Supplies

Colored yarn (I chose red but you could do really any color)
A contrasting colored yarn (I chose White)
Crochet hooks that fit the size of the yarn you chose
Scissors
Yarn needle
Chapstick

Start with a slip knot. Than continue with a chain stitch of about 15. Use the object you want the finished mushroom to hold to make sure your chain is long enough. Then start a single crochet row. Continue making rows until you can roll it around your object. Mine was about 17 rows.

Now that you have your rectangle crocheted we are going to attach the sides. Knot off your piece but leave a long tail thread the yarn needle with the tail and sew the the sides together all the way up into a tube

Now that you have your cylinder it’s time to close the bottom. Go to the side that you left the tail at in the beginning and thread it into the yarn needle. You’re going to sew the end together tightly. Double knot it and you’re done

Start with a slip knot. Do 4 stitches and than join it with the first stitch. Go continue crocheting around the circle until the circle is a bit larger than the opening of your stem. Keep making more circles around but skip a stitch every once and a while to tighten the circle. Compare it with your mushroom stem to decide when you need too end it. When you’re done knot it

Take your contrasting color yarn (mine is white) and take your yarn needle and stitch several spots into the mushroom cap

Start crochet chain. (make sure to leave a tail for later) make the chain at least long enough that it can go over your head when closed. Wrap it around your neck as you go to judge how long you want it. When you cut it off and knot it leave another tail.

Thread one of the tails of the chain through your yarn needle and stick it through the center of your mushroom cap.

Sew it through and knot it to the mushroom stem on one end as shone in the pictures. Do the same with the other tail of the chain to the other side of the stem

All Finished!
