Hi it's Sophia and i'm making delicious homemade snicker doodle cookies :) #HMS2020
Supplies
Baking pan large
Mixing bowl
Electric mixer or whisk
Measuring cups
Parchment paper
Sandwich bag
½ Cups Butter
2 TBSP + 1 ½ Cups Sugar
2 TBSP Vanilla extract
1 TSP Baking soda
¼ TSP Salt
½ Cup Shortening
2 Eggs
2 ¾ Cups Flour
2 TSP Cream of tartar
2 TSP Cinnamon
Food coloring (optional)
Preheat Oven
First start out by preheating your oven to 400 F. Also make sure you have all the ingredients that we will be using in your house.
Mixing Ingredients 1
In a very large mixing bowl add in ½ cups soft butter, 2 ¾ cups flour, 2 eggs, and 1 ½ cups sugar then mix it. The batter dosen't have to be mixed very well because we are going to mix it again. Yours might be very dry but in the end it will be fine.
Mixing Ingredients 2
After mixing the first chunk of ingredients, in the same bowl add ½ cup shortening, 2 tablespoons vanilla extract, 2 teaspoons cream of tartar, 1 teaspoons baking soda, and ¼ teaspoons salt.Don't forget to add a few drops of food coloring if you are doing the recipe just like me. Then mix it well with an electric mixer or whisk. I mostly just used my hands with gloves.
Balling Up Dough Then Seasoning Them
Grab some of the dough and make small golf ball sized balls. Then in a sandwich bag put 2 tablespoon sugar and 2 teaspoon cinnamon. Shake the bag to mix the seasoning. Put the balls inside the bag then shake them until they are coated evenly. If you need to you can grab some seasoning out of the bag and put it on the balls if they need more.
Baking
On a baking pan with parchment paper (ungreased) put the balled dough 2 inches away from each other. Put them in the oven for 8 or 9 minutes. Don't let them over cook! Make sure to set a timer. Take them out when they are finished and let them cool for a few minutes but not harden. The cookies should be soft in the middle and a little crunchy on the outside. Enjoy!
