Sourdough Cheese Biscuit (Scone)

This is a really delicious and cheesy scone and you are sure to love it.

Ingredients to Make the Ferment

To make the cheese scone you will need:

  • 1 cup Cheese (grated)
  • 2 teaspoons Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 50 grams Butter

Add flour, starter and water in to bowl and give them a good mix together. Cover with a tea towel and leave at room temperature overnight.

Continuing With the Ferment Base

Put the fermented mixture into a clean bowl and add the butter and baking soda and give it a really good mix.

Adding the Cheese and Vinegar

It's time to add the cheese and vinegar and mix well.

Baking

We lined our baking dish (ramekin) with baking paper. Pour in the mixture and top with more grated cheese.

Bake in a 180 degrees C or 356 degrees F oven for 40 minutes or until nicely cooked.

Ready to Eat

Once they are baked remove them from the oven and let them cool for 5-10 minutes.

Best enjoyed fresh from the oven with butter, but also great the next day and reheated for 20 seconds in a microwave.
