Spooky Chic Halloween Wreath
I love Halloween and if you do too but prefer a more chic approach to your spooky decor, then keep reading!
Materials Needed
- wreath form
- black crepe paper
- black tulle
- plastic flowers & leaves
- twigs
- black acrylic paint
- black glitter
- paint brush
- hot glue + gun
Blacken Your Florals
Paint your flowers and leaves black. While the paint is still wet, sprinkle some black glitter. It's best if you paint the flowers the day before, so as to have enough time to dry completely
The Black Basis
Dab a bit of hot glue onto the wreath form and start wrapping it with the crepe paper. Once covered with the paper, repeat the step with the black tulle.
The Assembly
Begin by placing first the twigs and then your focal flower. Play around with the rest of the decorative flowers and leaves until satisfied with the composition. Once you like what you see, you're ready gluing everything in place
Some Extra Touches
Glue everything down using generous amounts of hot glue.
If your leaves' shapes seem a bit off, cut them! Do not throw away the cutouts though; they are great as smaller leaves
Crunching up some tulle and lightly burning its edges, creates flower-like shapes, great for filling in any gaps in your floral composition.
Admire Your New Wreath
Hang it and step back to admire your newly created, spooky but chic, Halloween wreath!
What's your Halloween style? You go for a more traditional or more modern approach?
Happy crafting & Happy Halloween
