Steam Punk Gear Clock

This started as just a way to learn how to weld. Each component was made of slightly different materials and presented Its own challenges. I learned a lot and had fun at the same time.

Here are some close ups of some of the numbers I decided to use for the dial, and parts I used for the mechanical look. A chainsaw chain wraps the whole thing, there's a dirt bike sprocket, a a.c belt pully, some springs, and even pieces of an ice maker...

The Final Product

Some gems, a little paint and a couple dabs of epoxy to ensure my sub par welds held together, and I have a cool conversation piece at least. And it's surprisingly sturdy, my parents new wood floor has the dent to prove it (sorry mom)
