This steaming led cauldron should be a part of all Halloween decorations. It's a simple project that doesn't take much time or materials. I have chosen to use a 3d printer for this project, but you can also use clay or plaster to make the bowl. If you like to do this with a 3d printer I will provide the stl file I made for this project with fusion 360.

Supplies

  • RGB led stip 0,5m
  • Ultrasonic mist module
  • 9V battery(It's also possible to use a wall adaptor that converts the mains to 12V or what ever voltage the led strips requiers.)
  • Pliers
  • Sand paper
  • Primer
  • Black paint
  • Glue
  • Transparent plastic glass
  • Saw
  • Steel rod
  • Divider
  • Screwdriver + Drillbits 8-10mm
  • Silicone

Print the stl.files provided below. support is recomended. I also recomend to use 0,6mm nozzel or greater to decrease the print time.

There will be two files, one for the bowl and the other for the legs.

Remove support material and clean up the print by sanding it as much as you like, once you got the desired surface, it's time to apply some primer, when the primers on you can wet sand it to a smooth finnish and then apply some paint.

glas.jpg

Once painted It's time to mark the cirkel to cut out on the transparent plastic sheet. Set the divider to x mm radius and mark it out. then cut it with a suttible saw. in my case a curcular multi tool saw.

rod.jpg

Cut the rod to length and bend the hooks in each end.

Hole.jpg

Drill a hole in the bottom of the bowl and run through the led strip from the bottom up into the bowl, leaving the connector underneath. then hot glue it to place.

Silicon.jpg

Place some silicone in around/underneath the edges of the transparent plastic glass and fit it to place and let it dry over night.

Attach the 3 legs with glue and hook the rod in place.

Led modul.jpg
lyse.jpg

Add the driver for the led that comes along your ledstrip and hide it under the bowl.

ultrasonic.jpg

Fit the ultrasonic mist module in the bowl on top of the glass, pour enough water that it covers the mist module.
