Steampunk Light With Move Sensor in an Off-grid Solar System of 12v
Hello everybody!
I get started with my first instructable and I hope to be at the level of this amazing website.
In my first time, I am going to show you how you can make this steampunk light with sensor. It is a simple project supplied by off-grid solar system of 12v. I choose steampunk style to recycle old some copper tubes and one old manometer and is a style that I like. The idea is lighting automatically the light to a floor gallery just when somebody get in it.
Materials and Tools
See below the materials and tools that you will need:
Materials:
- Steampunk 12v light bulb (you can get it here)
- Sensor of moving (you can get it here)
- Wires
- Car fuse of 12v and 3A (As this)
- Fastens to fuse connections
And to give it steampunk style:
- Copper tubes
- Unions and elbows for the tubes
- Old bulb holder
- Old manometer
Also, you will need insulating tape, hot silicone and flanges to fix the tubes on the walls
Tools:
- Drill machine
- Pliers
- Cutter
- Hot silicone gun
Started
Before start, you make sure that there are no electricity in the off-grid solar system (unplug wire of solar controller)
Take the wire of off-grid system (in my case blue is the positive and brown is the negative) and take the measurements of copper tubes.
Fix the sensor with hot silicone to an copper elbow of 1/2'
Connections
Make the connections between sensor and off-grid system. The wire identifications are:
- Blue wire, negative of sensor
- Brown wire, positive of sensor
- Red wire, positive of light bulb
Also put the fuse in positive wire (Between sensor and off-grid)
Be careful with the wires colors in the pictures! Because in my case they don't look alike
Then, tape with insulating tape the connections and start to put in the tubes
Assembly
Make the last connections between sensor and light bulb and start to fix de tubes on the walls.
Use hot silicone to immobilize the tube connections
Manometer
Make a little hole on the tube to put in the manometer. You can end to put wires into the tubes and fix the light bulb.
Adjust
The final step is adjust the sensor according to your preferences
Finally
You can see this project in spanish here
I hope that you like!
