Step by Step Process Mermaid Coffee Table

Be sure the piece you have selected is structurally sound and make repairs where needed

Using a pneumatic staple gun, I positioned the Barbies and fastened them to the wood. Next I filled gaps and tried to cover the toy doll joints in the arms and hips, using construction glue (liquid Nail)

For the hair I pipe liquid nail using a calking gun. after a day to dry the glue at room temp I coat the piece with a white paint, (salvaged paint of course)

Tail fins can be made of scrap tin or plastic. Covered and textured with liquid nail. After the paint has dried I brush on a heavy coat of Black Walnut Watco wood Stain. Then let the stain set for about an hour. Then using Goof-off and a soft rag I wipe of the stain, leaving stain in the deeper surfaces of the piece. I call this look "Fabby Freak" ...
