Sun-dried Tomato Feta Burger
Burgers are always a hit at our house and I make one just about every week. This means that I have to get a little creative with my burger creations. A delicious whipped feta and sun-dried tomato sauce with a pork and beef burger and prosciutto!
Prep Time 15 minutes Cook Time 20 minutes Makes 6 burgers
Ingredients:
- 6 Brioche Buns
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Italian Seasonings
- 6 leaves of Green Leaf Lettuce
- 1 White Onion, sliced in rounds
- 1 lb Prosciutto
For the Patties
- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 1 lb Ground Pork
- 1 cup Feta Cheese, crumbled
- 3 Garlic Cloves, minced
- 1 tsp Italian Seasoning
- 1 cup Pork Rinds, crushed
For the Sauce
- 2 cup Feta Cheese, crumbled
- 1 6oz jar Sun-dried Tomatoes
- 3 Garlic Cloves, minced
- 1/2 cup Avocado Oil
Supplies
Grill or Grill Pan
Large Mixing Bowl
Knife
Cutting Board
Baking Sheet
Small Mixing Bowl
Prep the Meat
Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high. Also preheat oven to 450degF (for the buns)
In a large mixing bowl, combine ingredients for patties (using your hands is best to make sure they are fully incorporated).
Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions.
Form each portion into a large meatball, then press down into a patty.
Once grill or grill pan is hot enough, cook the patties for 10 minutes on each side.
Prepare the Toppings
In a small mixing bowl, add all ingredients for the sauce. Include all of the oil from the sun-dried tomatoes jar. Using an immersion blender (or stick blender), whip together until smooth.
Cut the onion into full rounds.
Toast the Buns
Line the buns open-faced on a baking sheet. Spray with cooking spray, sprinkle with garlic powder, and Italian Seasoning. Bake in the oven for 8-10 minutes, until golden brown.
Build the Burger
Start with the bottom bun and spread with heafy portion of whipped feta. Place onion round next. Top with a cooked patty. Next add 2-3 slices of prosciutto and a leaf of lettuce. Finally the bun on top. Press down slightly to help hold it all together. And ENJOY!!!
