Super Bowl Fan Pride Temporary Stencil

Want to show your Team Pride, but don't want to get kicked out of the Neighborhood Association? Then this Instructable for a temporary, eco-friendly stencil is for you. Easy to apply and clean up, you'll be all set for game day.

Get started with a quick stencil from Bay Stencil and Montana Spray Chalk.

If you want to cut the stencil yourself, you can print the layer images from the files in the next step and follow the step-by-step instructions here.

If you want a single-color (say, just black) stencil of the Panthers logo, you can just use black spray chalk. If you want a two-color representation with the blue in it, then you use the second stencil too, and use blue paint. Montana makes blue spray chalk that works for this color.

If you want a single-color stencil of the Broncos logo, you can just use black spray chalk. If you want a two-color representation with the blue in it, then you use the second stencil too, and use orange paint. Montana makes orange spray chalk that works for this color.

Even though it's removable, I would test spray the stencil onto paper before applying it to another surface. It's not difficult to remove the chalk immediately, but it may take some time for the surface to dry, and it's nice if you don't have to wait. This should be a quick project!

Note: don't use these spray chalks indoors. They are super messy to clean up indoors, mostly because the chalk gets on surfaces where you don't want it. But outdoors on concrete is fine. It will help to put some spray adhesive on the back of the stencil so that it doesn't blow away when you paint it. But usually I just wear a latex glove and hold the stencil down with my fingertips at each point where I'm applying the chalk.

Use a hose and a brush or broom to get the chalk out of any cracks. The longer you leave it on, the more you'll have to scrub to get it off. The chalk does not bind to the surface, but it does get finer and get into more of the grooves.
