With this homemade bracelet loom, you can make amazing bracelets in minutes. They are great for gifts, fundraisers, or even yourself!

Materials...
  • Cardboard (an empty snack or tissue box works great)
  • String/ Yarn
  • Scissors
  • Ruler (optional)

First, you need to create your loom.  Do this by tracing an octagon (stop sign) shape onto your cardboard and cutting it out.

Next, puncture a hole in the middle of the octagon, and slits on each side.  (These slits will go about two thirds of the way to the center of the octagon.)

Now that you have your loom, cut seven pieces of string about 1 1/2 feet long.  These can be all the same color or different colors.  It is up to you!

Then, take those pieces of string, put them through the center hole of your loom, and tie a knot.

Next, flip your loom over so the knot is on the bottom.  Insert each strand of string into a slot, leaving the eigth slot unfilled.  You will then pick up the piece of string third from the left of the empty slot.  (In this case it would be the blue one.)  And move it over to the empty slot.

Continue moving the strand third from the left to the empty slot.  As your bracelet starts to form, gently pull it through the hole until it has reached your desired length.

Lastly, remove your bracelet from the loom and knot the end or tie it on one's wrist.  Now you are ready to start again!
