Super Simple Sorbet

IMG-4633.jpg

I love sorbet. It's the perfect dessert: light, sweet, fruity. Most people eat store-bought sorbet, but after you try this homemade version, you will never go back! It may seem like it would be hard to make, but I guarantee you, it is way easier than you think. This recipe is quick, simple, and a fantastic summertime (or really anytime) treat! I owe it all to my daddy who taught me how to make this delectable dessert. In this Instructable, I will be teaching you how to make super simple sorbet, which is an easy and incredibly delicious recipe.

You Will Need...

Supplies:

  • Small sauce pan
  • Blender
  • Bowl (not glass)

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups of fruit, fresh or frozen (I used strawberries, but any fruit works)
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 1/2 cups of sugar

Make Your Sugar Water

On the stove at medium-high heat, pour the water and sugar into the saucepan and stir until completely dissolved. Stir about every two minutes. Take the pan off immediately after it starts boiling. If you do not do this, the sugar will burn.

Blend Ingredients

Add the fruit and sugar water into the blender. Blend however long you like (the less you blend, the more pieces of fruit you will have, which can be very yummy!)

Freeze the Sorbet

Pour the sorbet mixture into a bowl (make sure that it's not glass, because it will shatter in the freezer) and put it into your freezer overnight. In the morning you will have homemade sorbet! Enjoy!
