so this is one of my favourite breakfasts maybe could be yours too

quick, simple, delicious, great way to use day old bread, easy to alter for a new flavour

you'll need

  • a wide shallow bowl
  • a frying pan
  • fork or small whisk
  • butter or oil for frying
  • 2 slices bread (whatever you have here I used multigrain)
  • a large egg (60g est) for thick bread use 2
  • 50ml milk more or less depending on bread and egg mass/size
  • 2 tsp (8g) sugar or equivalent sweetener
  • 1tsp (4g) vanilla extract optional

optional: spices ie cinnamon or flavours ie lemon zest

Berries, syrup, yoghurt etc to serve with

mix with fork or small whisk

Soak

then soak the bread in it for at least 30 seconds each side,

a really dense bread will need to be perforated with a fork and left to soak over night

Heat Pan and Fry
