Sweet Mini Apple Pies

These mini apple pies are so good and fairly easy to make. With a flaky crust mixed with a sweet apple filling, I'm sure you will enjoy this!!

Supplies

What you will need to for filling

  • 2 and 1/2 cups chopped apples (about 5 small apples)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

  • 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

For the Pie crust

  • 2 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 6 Tablespoons unsalted butter, chilled
  • 3/4 cup vegetable shortening
  • 1/2 cup water

Other things needed:

  • cupcake tray
  • 2 large bowls
  • spoon
  • cookie cutter
  • peeler
  • cutting board
  • knife
  • measuring cups and spoons

Preheat Oven and Make Pie Crust

you will need to preheat your oven ( you can also use a toaster oven) to 425°F. Then you will need to make your pie crust

Ingredients:

2 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

6 tablespoons unsalted butter, chilled

3/4 cup vegetable shortening

1/2 cup water

mix everything together and it will form a thick consistency, when you break it apart it should look flakey and holdable. Refrigerate while making pie filling.

Make Pie Filling

Now you will need to make your pie filling. Chop and peel your apples and put them into a large bowl, then add the rest of your ingredients.

  • 2 and 1/2 cups chopped apples
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Mold Dough to Cupcake Tray

take your round cookie cutter ( or just balls of dough and squish them into the indents of the cupcake mold.) cut round bits of dough and place them into the mold, then use your fingers and squish the dough up to the rims of the indents. do this until you run out of indents or until you have the desired amount of mini pies.

Fill With Your Apple Mixture

and if you want you can make fun designs onto the top with leftover dough. put in the oven for 20-25 minutes or until the pie crust is lightly golden brown and the filling is bubbly. Remove from the oven and set aside to cool for 10-15 minutes.
