One serving of banana contains 110 calories, 30 grams of carbohydrate and 1 gram of protein. Bananas are naturally free of fat, cholesterol, and sodium.
The health benefits of the banana may be great, but the tasty desserts you can make out of them are even better and simply amazing. So in this Instructable, I'll show you the recipe for a quick banana dessert.
Let's go BANANAS !!
The Ingedients
For this simple sweet, make sure to have the following items on your shopping list:
- Bananas
- Coconut (Grated: 1 Cup)
- Jaggery (1 Cup)
- Cardamom (7-8 Pounded)
- Raisins (Optional)
- Cashew Nuts (Optional)
Prepping the Ingredients
Before we add all the Ingredients together, it's always best to keep all the ingredients ready.
Peel and slice the bananas into small bits and add it into a bowl.
Next grate the coconut and keep it aside in a bowl.
Also pound the cardamom a bit so that all the seeds are somewhat powdered. You need not be consistent with it because it's added only for the flavor.
Combine Em All
Next step is to add up all the ingredients together.
First with the help of a grater, shred the jaggery chunks on to the bananas which you have already put into the mixing bowl.
Next add the pounded cardamom into the bowl.
After adding the cardamom, add in the grated coconut into the bowl.
Mix and Refrigerate
Now after adding all the ingredients into the bowl, give it a nice mix. You should see the jaggery melt due to the moistness of the bananas. Once it's all mixed well, it'll look tempting but just hold on for a while before you dig in.
After mixing put away the bowl into the refrigerator for a few hours. This will improve the taste a lot as it allows the bananas to soak in all the flavor at a cool temperature.
Garnish and Serve
Once you've refrigerated the mix for a couple of hours, it's time to treat your tastebuds with one of the most amazing sweets it has ever tasted.
Remove it out of the refrigerator and transfer it on to a serving bowl. Garnish it with a little more grated coconut as a final touch. That's it guys !! It's all ready to be served and savored.
This recipe can be used as a dessert or even a cold snack to enjoy on a sunny afternoon.
You can get creative and add on honey or chocolate syrup as topping, if you have a sweet tooth.
