The main highlight of the egg bonda is the crust surrounding the boiled egg. To make the crust crispy and tasty, follow the instructions below.

Add 1/4 cup of gram flour, 2 Tablespoons of corn flour, 1 Teaspoon of Salt and 1 Tablespoons of red chili powder into a bowl. Now add some water and mix it well to form a batter of the required consistency. You can add in a pinch of baking soda if you want the crust to be more crispy. Mix it well and set it aside while prepping the eggs.

Prep the Eggs

The eggs wont have enough time to boil when it is being deep fried. For this reason, you'll need to pre-boil the egg before deep frying.

Take some water in a vessel and add required amount of eggs into it. Bring it to boil and let it boil till the eggs are cooked. Peel the eggs and slice it into halves and set it aside. It is now time to deep fry the eggs.

Deep Fry Time

Now that you have everything ready, heat up some oil in a deep frying pan. After the oil heats up, dip the sliced eggs in the batter.

Coat the eggs well with the batter and drop it slowly into the oil. Also be cautious enough not to drop the eggs from far such that the oil might spill on your hand. This might cause a nasty burn mark. Add a few coated eggs into the pan at a time but take care that they don't stick to each other. Fry them until they're golden orange in color. Note: The color may vary depending on the composition of your batter. Don't worry if the color isn't right on the first try.

Serve Hot

Once the eggs are fried until they're golden orange in color, remove them out of the hot oil and place it onto some paper napkin to remove excess oil from it.

Now transfer it onto a serving plate and enjoy the tasty, crispy, hot egg bondas with some tomato ketchup or your favorite chutney. Happy Snacking !! :)
