The DIY Smart Light Box - Smart Dimmer With Any Lamp and Multiple Stupid Bulbs 💡
How to make your lamps smart (ZigBee, Alexa, Google, Apple Home Kit, Ikea Tradfri, Philips Hue) and dimmable without a smart bulb 💡 or multiple smart bulbs 💡💡💡
Why not using a normal smart bulb?
- It would be boring
- You can't use every bulb you like (e.g. Retro Bulbs)
- If you have multiple bulbs on one lamp:
- They switch on and off at the same time ⏱
- Only one smart device necessary and connected to the Hub 📲
- Only one voice command for the lamp 🎶
- Saves money 💸
- Fun fact : You can even use the most smart bulb too, but I wouldn't recommend that. 😅 🙈
- You can dim the light lower than with any smart bulb (even lower than HUE). This is cool for wake up functions. 🌅
- If you turn the light off, it is really off and not only dim really low, so it glows in the night and make strange sounds. 🔇
- Easy replacement of bulbs 🤷🏼
- To try something new
Hint: If you don't know anything about electrical and voltage, show your DIY project to a professional before you plug it in or use it! 👷🏼 🚑 🏥

Stripping the cables. One long end, one short end. Fix the cables with the Cable Glands.
Connect them with the right port, like in the instruction of your smart dimmer.
Your Build Is Ready to Connect
To connect your ZigBee go with the remote near the box and press the pair button for around 10 seconds. After this give your hub some time to rethink what he is doing. 😉
Alexa, Apple Home Kit or Google Home
After your connection to the hub you can find the lamp in your Alexa or what ever.
You Got It 👏
Your stupid lamp is now smart, and you can use every bulb or bulbs you like.
