The D.O.R.M. (Desk Organizer That Is Really Magnificent)
The PSHS-MC Dorm. Aside from the current problems such as the lack of shower heaters and the immense heat experienced, most Pisay dormers experience this problem: messy rooms. Messy beds. And most evidently, messy desks. A lot of random things are misplaced and not properly arranged in the desks of Pisay dormers, and this affects the quality of their work. Thus, I simply created a desk organizer that caters to the specific needs of Pisay scholars by having containers for the most common items of Pisay scholars.
Supplies
3 mm thick acrylic sheets
Super glue
Laser Cutter
Inkscape
Designing the Pieces in Inkscape
Using Inkscape in a 290 mm by 290 mm canvas, replicate the following pieces as seen in the image above. The following are the pieces: Pieces 1, 2 (3 copies), 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, A1, A2 (2 copies), A3, A4, A5, FwH, Funko, C1, C2, C3, and C4. Additionally, design a 350 mm by 280 mm rectangular piece which will serve as the base of the desk organizer. For the design, do not forget to have the border set as 0.001 inch thick with a red color.
Laser Cutting the Pieces
Prepare the designed pieces in Inkscape by converting them to PDF files. Then, go straight to your available laser cutter to print each piece.
Combining the Pieces
On the base, paste two Piece 1s on the width. Paste the other Piece 1 97 mm away from the Piece 1 that is located on the right. Then, paste one Piece 2 in between the left-width Piece 1 and the middle Piece 1. Then, paste Piece 3 between the middle Piece 1 and the right-width Piece 1. Then, paste Piece 4 on the base and make sure it is located in the middle of Piece 3. Then, paste one Piece 5 on the base and make sure it is connected to Piece 4. Paste the other Piece 5 on the other side that connects the middle Piece 1 and the right-width Piece 1. Paste Piece 6 perpendicular to both Piece 5s. Afterward, paste Piece 7 60 mm to the left of the middle Piece 1.
Paste the second Piece 2 on top of Piece 7 in a perpendicular manner between the middle Piece 1 and the left-width Piece 1. Paste the third Piece 2 on top of the second Piece 2 with a gap of 107 mm in a parallel manner with respect to the second Piece 2. Then, paste C1 on top of the third Piece 3 and make sure that it is pasted 141 mm right of the left-width Piece 1 and in a perpendicular manner with respect to the third Piece 3. Paste C2 in the same manner as C1 to form a box. Then, paste Piece Funko in a way that it connects C1 and the middle Piece 1 and make sure that it is perpendicular with respect to middle Piece 1 and C1.
Finally, make the drawer portion of the organizer by using the A pieces, C3, and C4. On Piece A1, paste both Piece 2s on both sides of Piece A1 on the 277 mm side. Then, paste Piece 3 on the 244 mm side of Piece A1 which will be in between both Piece 2s. Then, paste Piece A4 115 mm left of the right-width Piece A2. Then, paste Piece A5 between Piece A4 and the right-width Piece A2. Finally, paste Piece FwH perpendicular to both Piece A2s and Piece A1. Finally, make the handle of the drawer portion by stacking 3 pieces of Piece C3 twice and pasting them on both ends of Piece 4. Attach the output in the middle of Piece FwH. Lastly, put the drawer portion between the second and third Piece 2s.
