The EasySling

IM000136.JPG
A sling to hurl oversize water balloons, waterballs, zucchini your mother grows that you would rather fling than eat, and anything else that will fit in the sling. Can be built in about 10 minutes, and materials can be found around the house.

P.S. Don't forget to rate it if you like it :)

UPDATE: NEW VIDEO FEATURING SAFETY EQUIPMENT

Gather Your Materials and Tools!

Picture 154.jpg
materials:

1) Old T-shirt
2) rope (about 20 feet)
3) Duct tape
4) ammunition

Tools:

1) Scissors

Measure Yourself

Picture 164.jpg
1) Measure yourself from the floor to shoulder height.
2) Take that number and double it.
3) cut two lengths of rope that are your shoulder height doubled.

Example: I am five feet from the floor to my shoulders, so I will double that. I end up with 10 feet, so I will cut two lengths of rope 10 feet long

Cut T-shirt

Picture 165.jpg
cut a rectangular piece of cloth 10 inches by 7 inches from your scrap T-shirt.
(25.4 cm by 17.78 cm)

Reinforcements!

Picture 169.jpg
Tape duct tape on all four corner to reinforce the areas where you will be putting your rope through.
(duct tape only needs to be on on side)

Make Holes!

Picture 172.jpg
Make Holes in all four corners through the duct tape and cloth.
I just stabbed it with my scissors, but you may want to do this differently.

Feed Rope Through

Picture 178.jpg
Flip your cloth over, then feed your rope through one hole and out the other.
(do this on both sides of the cloth)

Tie Some Knots

Picture 179.jpg
Even out the ends of your rope and tie a simple overhand knot with the two.
Do this with both ropes.

TADA!

Holding the Sling

Picture 182.jpg
Picture 184.jpg
take your dominant hand, and feed one of the knots between your middle and pointer finger. bring the knot over to your pinky and hold the knot loosely there. bring the other knot between your pointer and your thumb, and pinch it there. Now, clasp your hand into a fist.

Sling Stuff!

Picture 192.jpg
put whatever you are flinging into the pouch (preferably, something soft for your first sling).
The object will have to have some weight to make it possible to spin the sling around your head. once you are holding the ends of the ropes, and you have your projectile in the pouch, check your surroundings. Make sure there is no one around you, even behind you. If you release at the wrong time, your projectile could go flying anywhere! Start to spin the sling around your head. Release the knot that is in between your pointer and your thumb when you feel your timing is right. When done correctly, your projectile will fly very, very, far! (I have gotten a water balloon to fly about 100 yards)
