I find it a huge advantage to sit and eat off the ground. To just have some space to set down my drink or to lay down my book. Without any fear for bugs in my drink or a wet cover. Even when I'm camping, or biking, I'll bring my 3D printed PINtable. Lightweight an folds small enough for the side pocket in my backpack. And it holds up to 2kg or 4 pounds.
The top is 23x24cm (almost 10"x10"), large enough to eat alone or drink together :-)
Folded it is 24x12x2cm (10"x9,5"x0,8").
